Custom Bowls
For my Ceramics 1 art show, I made 5 bowls with ridges going down the walls. Since it was my first time ever doing ceramics, I decided to challenge myself. The biggest problem with making bowls with ridges is making sure not to make the walls too thin, and trying to keep the ridges equal. I threw the bowls using one of the wheels and made the ridges by pinching the walls. In order to choose the colors I wanted, I tested out colors on small pieces of clay, and the planter I made earlier. I tested yellow, blue, and purple. The pieces I made were yellow, blue, purple, light green, and dark green. I had fun making pieces in Ceramics 1, and I’m glad I took this class.
